I was thrilled to finally get this book! It is soft cover but good size. I was pleased with the format and lovely pictures. The authors covered a variety of styles all separated into catagories. They give step by step instructions in each section to allow the amateur to succeed. This book inspired me to look at old/castoff items in a new way. While not EVERY item is applicable to my style, inspiration and confidence are inspired. This book is also for those "green" ideas - reusing what you have in a new way is just as green as recycling water bottles. Overall, I loved this book and am very pleased - my mind is racing with new ideas!
I love junk and this book filled with ideas sure gets your mind spinning about how you can recycle your own junk or look through your family's junk. I'm all about searching the boxes in the basements, below tables, and in attics at Estate Sales - that's where the cool stuff is and this book shows you how to use some of it. SCORE - I just love it when I buy something for 25¢ and discover that I can make a work of art out it by following some of the directions in the book. Again, this isn't for everyone but if you love treasure hunting or JUNKIN' as I call it, you'll find something in this book to cherish.
This was one of my first Junk Market decorating style books and still remains one of my favorites. I have (and have reviewed) a number but this one I still think is the top of the bunch. One of it's best features is that it shows that there's not just one style...it divides up junk market decorating into various categories such as cottage, country, modern, etc, and then gives you projects and examples from each style. The projects are creative and accessible and really inspiring to help you look at everyday objects in a different light. A must for anyone interested in junk market/flea market/salvage style!
Junk repurposing doesn't date. All the things one can make from old stuff is amazing! Magazine in great shape, too.
