Many, many, many years ago (okay, so I'm older -- big deal), my sister and I went to see this movie. First of all, it was a rare treat to go to a movie, and secondly it was such a great movie about leprachauns filled with humor and mystery and adventure that for weeks afterwards we re-enacted the movie. As I aged, my thoughts would occasionally go back to Darby O'Gill; however, it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I became very sentimental about Darby O'Gill and decided that I would love to watch the movie once again. Finally the day came that I purchased the movie on e-bay. What a wonderfully delightful movie that's especially perfect around St. Patrick's Day! It's definitely a must-see for anyone with Irish in his/her blood or for anyone who feels even a little bit Irish no matter when.Read full review
I WAS VERY GLAD TO FIND THIS OLD MOVIE. NOW A WHOLE NEW GENERATION OF KIDS IN MY FAMILY CAN GROW UP WITH DISNEY'S LEPRECHAUNS. LIKE I DID. IT IS A GREAT WAY TO LEARN ABOUT SOME OF IRELAND'S FOLK TALES AND MYSTICAL, LEGENDARY BEINGS.

A truly GREAT Walt Disney movie that I remembered seeing many years ago and finally had the opportunity to purchase. A wonderfully youthful Sean Connery! I can see why he's still a great actor. I wish they would reprint this one and some other early movies like TONKA with Sal Mineo and The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit. Love them all. You can't beat them for childrens movies.
The VHS came perfectly packaged and ran the entire length in like-new smoothness. The movie itself was much scarier at the drive-in, although that was long, long ago when i was a wee tot. At home on the flat screen the scariest scenes were much shorter and ending much sappier than I remember. Still it was fun to revisit a happy, old memory. My kids who know what scary is, and isn't, gave it a mediocre thumbs, "Eh." At least it had (a very young) James Bond in it. Thank you,
the whole movie is great and to see a very young sean connery, makes it even better.i bought the movie because it was one of the last films my mother and i watched before she passed away.
