This is a great book chronicling the background, battle, and aftermath of the decisive battle in the Europe during World War II. Ambrose writing style is a delight for any amateur historian of WWII. This book can be enjoyed by anyone wishing to learn more about D-Day. However, if you only want an brief introduction to the battle and its consequences, this may not be the book for you. For other great WWII books that offer a more concise history, you may want to check out: Citizen Soldier by Ambrose The Second World War by Keegan Empires on the Pacific by Thompson
Yet another great book from author Stephen Ambrose. This book details the lives of just regular citizen soldiers fighting one of the biggest battles of all time, the invasion of Europe during WWII. If you liked the other books from this author, this book will not let you down. Not much more i can say about this book but to buy it and read it and find out truly what these men went through.
The book should be a textbooks for every High School in the nation. Bet tales of the greatness and Valor hotels who fought for freedoms of Europe against Hitler and his regime.
