I love this gun! It's a big value with a small price-tag. It has respectable accuracy considering the somewhat crude sights, fits well in the hand, and points naturally. If I were to detract a star (I won't), it would be because there are no dovetail groove cuts for mounting better sights. Of course you can buy upgraded after-market components if you want those features but that could become a money trap. I think I'll leave well-enough alone, but we'll see. A gun this fun could lead me down that path.

I did a lot of research for the most popular and most versatile Co2 pistol I could find and the Crosman 2240 won hands down!! But just waiting for something you spent weeks researching was agonizing in it's self!! But I quickly received my 2240 within a week and used the knowledge I learned from the YouTube videos as I dabbed on the Pellgun oil and inserted my cylinder and dry fired a couple times! WOW! Then I loaded it with the awesome Crosman .22 Premier Hollow Points and fired at my target for the first time!!! The wait was worth every minute of it as this is a great pistol to shoot as is. The power is at my finger tips!! Now for a scope/optical sight!!!! Awesome pistol! Thanks Crosman!!! Scott

This is a very good pellet gun for the money, @460fps this little pistol has some serious takedown power.(depending on the ammo used) one C02 cartridge lasts through 40 to 45 rounds before it needs to be changed again. you may want to change the C02 cartridge at approximately the 40th round to ensure good power behind the pellets, any more than that you lose quite a bit of power. This is a fun, accurate, and powerful little air pistol. I made a pretty good choice with this purchase. I'm considering purchasing a second one since the first one has worked so well. I've had no issues what so ever. Great quality for the price!!

The 2240 is a well made, no frills CO2 pellet gun. It is a single shot (one pellet is individually fed after each shot). The speed is high enough to kill a squirrel or other small rodent. The short barrel and sight radius make long shots very difficult. An effective range with a stock pistol is somewhere around 30 feet or less. Most will want to add upgrades, though most are cosmetic and for show. Grips are hollow plastic and to me, detract from an otherwise solid platform. I'd prefer something solid for the grips. Ideally wood (which is what I upgraded to, but rubber would also feel less cheap). But let's face it. This is a lot of air pistol for the money. Upgrading much at all brings this into the low $200s. I would compare this to the 1377 or 1322 (variable pumps) and decide how much I intended to shoot it. For me, more frequent use would warrant the pump models. If it is only used for occasional plinking or to dispatch a pesky pack rat. The CO2 fits the bill. Read full review

Great pellet gun with a lot of available options and add ons. CO2 cartridges last well above 30 shots and the ammo comes in several different types. Fits in the hand well with easy loading. I purchased the gun, a picatinny rail, a red laser for the bottom and a red/green optic sight for the top. Shoots perfect everything.
