Very good tire, grip is great on both lose and hard packed as well as turf. Very happy with this tire. It's getting harder and harder to find good 26" mtb tires that are not junk and so far I'm impressed. Although a little spendy it's a wonderful tire. Smooth, responsive and predictable. I bought two more to have replacements when this wears out.

I mainly ride Austin TX greenbelt hardpack which is loaded with jagged sharp edged limestone which beats up the sidewalls of tires if one is not careful. While this is not Continentials top of the line lightweight folding Kevlar tire (though I do keep one handy as a spare when I ride as its foldable) this wire bead one is perfectly good for most intermediate riders. I run them on my kids Santa Cruz, a Kona, and my Giant Anthem. They are pretty durable, grip is good, and that is what I need and the price is right. Your mileage may vary depending on your particular terrain.
