I think most people from Hong Kong possibly know the story well. Because it was made into movie and TV series at least 5 times in the past since the author, Mr. Cha wrote the story. But it is the first time it is done by mainland China. My friend told me that it is good, and TVB has done a good job making the Cantonese sound track, thats why I decided to buy a copy. This version follows the original story line quite well. The 2 main characters are well picked and the background scenery are well chosen. They have made it quite artistically. I think it is well made. The only few things I will complaint is the picture quality, it is not too sharp even I have a DVD version. Maybe the PAL to NTSC conversion has down graded the picture quality.
Great! Couldn't wait to complete my collection!

I love this movie series very much! I think it the best out all series including the old version one. I can watch this over and over; not getting tired of it.
Nowhere on the net sells it for $20 and I finally have it in my collection of Louis Cha's Condor Trilogy. Plus, it has Crystal Yifei!:)Love this Drama!
Be careful as other versions of this DVD boxset that are cheaper actually has scenes cut! The more expensive version put out by Tai Seng will have a different cover art that says UNCUT version. This new version has spectacular scenery, costumes, and fight scenes. The character development and dialogue however was better in the 83 version so it's recommended to watch that to understand the backgrounds and full stories of some of the minor characters. The highlight to this movie without a doubt is Liu Yifei. She is absolutely stunning as Dragon Girl. I find myself fast forwarding fight scenes just to see more of her and Yang Guo. All the scenes with them together are extremely dramatic, almost to the point of making you cry. You'll recognize alot of the music from this series from Inuyasha and other soundtracks. The english subs are pretty decent too. The one biggest disappointment will come all the way at the ending as you'll find it ends very abruptly but other than that, definitely worth the purchase to own this version of part 2 of the Condor Heroes Trilogy.Read full review
