This device was easy to connect to my VCR to record some short videos, but the 4MB storage card stopped well before the 5 hour capacity as advertised. I substituted a 16 MB card and it stored more time, but when I connected the device to my computer USB it wasn't recognized. Luckily I have a multi data card reader and was able to take the card out and copy my files to the computer by hand each time, and delete them to load up once more. It would be nice to have some editing features, like start and stop instead of creating another whole file to edit out a commercial or something. All in all, not bad.

Do NOT waste your money on this item. This product does not deliver as advertised. The directions says to stop the recording before 2 hours or the voice and picture will be out of sink. I recorded a video that was less than 15 minutes and the voice and picture was so far out of sink that it looked like a comedy. I re-recorded it and got the same results. This item is going back. I'll spend my money on something that works.

I had tried several video-to-pc converters, and could not get them to work in Win 10 even though I learned how to turn off the command "signed drivers only". ClearClick recorded the old tapes, synching the audio and visual well. The resolution of the old tapes was poor, and that is what is recorded. The VCR plays the tapes in real time, so it takes an hour to record an hour of playback. I was able to tweak the brightness, contrast, and color of the videos in the video editing program I already had in the pc. The Windows Movie Maker included in Win 10 works well with this recorded file, but can only enhance or decrease brightness. The included disk is a conversion program to convert the format from .avi to others. It works, but takes real time playback as well. While recording the tapes, the audio is bardely audible from the ClearClick, and an output to headphones would be a nice addition, but for the price, ClearClick does a good job. I recommend!Read full review

Saw a video regarding this device when I was looking for an easy way to transfer home video (VHS and 8mm) to my computer. Ordered it and dug out my VHS player. When it arrived, everything needed was in the box. Followed the simple instructions, and in ten minutes I was copying my tapes. If the quality of your tapes are bad, this WILL NOT improve them, it copies what you put in, good or bad. Transferring the files was a snap using the included USB 3.1 flash drive. I set up a second SD card to use while I was transferring the files so it was constantly in use. HINT: If you put a lot on the flash drive be prepared to do some waiting if you do not have a USB 3.0 port. The software to edit the videos has a fairly high learning curve but it will definitely do the job and has more features that I really need. I am now looking at other products from this company to see if they have other devices I can use.Read full review

Please save yourself some trouble and buy this instead of their USB capture device which some of the colors like yellow was not accurate on and also the USB one requires a computer. This stand alone device is excellent when you use higher quality RCA cables than what comes with it. I used a high quality component (5 rca plugs instead of 3) that I received from a cable tv company. Works great. No interference lines like when using the cable that it ships with. Use a MicroSD card reader to transfer your video from their SDcard to your PC for best results.
