Was looking for an affordable spotting scope with excellent features. Searched the web reviews and the celestron ultima 100 was #1 with the ultima 80 comming in at #5. Since I will not be using this in my line of work I decided to go for the one of lesser cost. This has a very crisp immage, extremely easy to set up and adjust! This is the first celestron product I have seen, I AM IMPRESSED!!! I would imagine if the 80 is this impressive the 100 must be worth every penny they are asking for it. Knowing what I do now I would not have been reluctant to spend the money on the higher priced one. The ultima 80 is a well built, affordable optics tool I will reccomend to any one who's asking... I bought the Celestron Ultima 80 for target shooting. I have an eye disease that has left me with marginal vision. Since I was familiar with the quality of Celestron products, I knew it would be a quality product well worth the money spent. Even with my vision problems I am able to see 30 cal. bullet holes in white paper, with good light, at 300 yds. My grandson shoots 22-250 and .223 and is able to spot holes at the 300 yds when the light is good. I have a pair of Celestron Binoculars (12X) and they are just as good as the scope. The only "con" I have at all is that I wish the eye relief was a little longer. My glasses get in the way even with the rubber eye cup removed. I can heartily recommend Celestron products from my experience and I have a brother who does amateur astronomy with a Celestron (8 inch I think) with a camera mount. The pictures are unbelievably clear I would not hesitate to buy another Celestron if the need ever arises Dwight RhodesRead full review

Excellent unit. I purchased this for the archery range and I can see exact position of arrows at 90 meters. It does need a good tripod. Only criticism is the front lens cover doesnt clip on very well and almost always falls off in transit. Rear lens rubber cover comes off fairly easily as well. Overall it is a very good unit. It represents excellent value for money. I am glad I went for the 80 over a 65
Great scope for the price
