Camp Nowhere is a mixed bag. This is a movie that with a little more thought, some better writing and a little more plausibility could have been a great flick. First off it has a first rate cast, Burgess Meredith, Christopher Lloyd and Johnathan Jackson lead the cast credits. The film locations are ideal and the photography is well done. Last but not least the Soundtrack is outstanding, most of the songs are done by none other then Nathan Cavaleri.Nathans songs and his guitar playing on the tracks is one of the best reasons to watch this flick. He also has a small bit part in this flick and yep he plays a guitar player. too bad they didn't give him a bigger roll. Plot Synopsis: Morris "Mud" Himmel has a problem. His parents desperately want to send him away to summer camp. He hates going to summer camp, and would do anything to get out of it. Talking to his friends, he realizes that they are all facing the same sentence: a boring summer camp. Together with his friends, he hatches a plan to trick all the parents into sending them to a camp of his own design, which would actually be a parent-free paradise. Blackmailing former drama teacher Dennis Van Welker into helping, they must convince the parents that the camp is genuine, and that they aren't allowed to visit...But the parents come for a surprise visit and things start to unravel...... Johnathan Jackson is the real star here and steals the show. He does the best acting of the whole cast. His acting is superior and goes a long way to making this movie watchable.Frankly they did him an injustice not making a better movie for him to play in. Christopher Lloyd's position is untenable as he is given a character with a ridiculous unrealistic script. He does make the most of it though and does get a few laughs. Burgess Meredith has a small bit part but makes the most of it while he is there, never one to take a backseat to anyone! Fun movie so long as you don't expect too much and the soundtrack is great! You do actually get to see Nathan Play guitar...... from the roof of a barn with His Nitro guitar and stack of amps. looks like something straight out of Woodstock. You also get to see a lot of him playing during the credits....in fact you see more of him and his playing in the credits then in the movie...why? Oh well, I don't recommend this as a feature film on movie night, but I wouldn't pass it up entirely either. A rainy Sunday when you've got nothing else to do is perfect for this kind of movie and you can get this flick pretty cheap on E-Bay nowadays.Read full review
This movie is the typical pre-teen utopia, what any childhood dream would be...ditch the parents take the money and go wild. With a supporting cast with such names as Christopher Lloyd, Johnathan Jackson and a small role with Jessica Alba, help create a movie that gives children everywhere a dream. (if it were owned by disney it would have been much more popular, but with the language and minor adult themes it lost touch with its audience base)
great movie my son and I just watched it ( for the 6th time)

AND EBAY IF YOU SEE THIS I THINK THIS IS STUPID THAT I AM PRETTY MUCH BEING FORCED TO WRITE A STUPID REVIEW BUT THE REMINDER WON'T GO AWAY AND IT BUGS ME TO SEE IT ALL THE TIME LIKE I AM OBLIGATED TO DO IT. YOU SHOULD MAKE A WAY TO LET ME MAKE THE REMINDER GO AWAY AND IF THERE IS ALREADY ONE PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT IT!
