The BBSCOEM4U-PP board does what it needs to do.
The board does what it needs to do. You need to install the RnRMotion, dll in the mach3/plugins directory to make it go. It uses port 3 for the inputs (1-4) and outputs (1-4). The motors are hard coded on port 0. Spindle speed is on Port-0 pin-1. The board has all I/O well marked. For maximum reliability stepping, use the slowest clock speed to meet your needs. For most small machines, that will be 25KHz.
Operators starting out with this USB device will not notice anything unusual about the operation either manually or with G-code.
If you are converting over from a parallel port, you will notice some minor differences in the way it handles manually. The parallel port operation is cleaner and faster responding. Moving to USB serial may start out annoying, but not for long.
Mach3 parallel does not require you to home the machine to recover your last run position on startup, USB does, and that is a good reason for having limit switches.
Documentation suffers greatly. There is only one or two documents on the CD that explains what you need to do. See "Mach3 Software Installation BSMCEO4U.pdf"
