I just installed this on my rifle this evening. Seems clear to me. I checked the inlumination properties first opening the battery and removing the plastic cover to keep the battery from discharging. Reinstalled the cap, and turned on. It doesn't seem to work. I haven't purchased a new battery yet. But If it came with a battery it should have worked. Until I put the new battery in , and bore site the scope, I can't give you a better review. The condition of the box was o.k. the scope had no scratches or dents. After finding the correct base and rings for the rifle its on but not confirmed working. I'll let you know soon enough.

The good: The scope is typical for Bushnell products in that it is very clear and the reticles are easy to see useful for adjusting the elevation and windage sight pictures. It would be a much better scope with tactical turrets. For the price, it's hard to beat. I didn't have it long enough to thoroughly review the operation of the scope...so read on. The bad: straight out of the box, I couldn't get the to illuminate as it's supposed to. I removed the battery and tested it and found 3.3 volts present in the advertised 3 volt battery. I called Bushnell product support and they suggested trying another battery which I did with the same results. Bushnell's excellent lifetime warranty kicked in, of course and since mine was only 3 days old, their warranty center gave clear instructions on how to return it for a replacement. Naturally, I had to pay the $12 return postage, so my inexpensive scope isn't so inexpensive at this point. Summary: I wouldn't recommend buying this scope. I've since found a number of review comments with the same issue and it just isn't worth it. The nature of a scoped rifle sight allows the optics to gather a lot of light anyway, so why muck an otherwise nice scope up with a gadget that simply isn't reliable?Read full review

Absolute best for the money! mounted on .22mag for coyotes. Lighted crosshair is perfect in low light, and so is scope Shooting 70 yds under solar light on 8x. Scope is very accurate and durable. Love how just the center part of the crosshair lights up. Doesn't "overpower" view in very low light.
