Works as advertised to do 5.1/7.1 sound to channels. It could use more treble and bass response but not bad. Would like a more universal remote that could work with other products than just Sony. That applies to the whole industry really. The major feature I would like is to have graphical display on the TV available to adjust features like speaker volumes. Very hard to see the small screen menu when across the room trying to adjust features.
Awesome Receiver has great sound easy setup the cal mic makes really easy to setup HDMI Really works great It does everything i wanted and more and its Great Value I absolutely love everything about this receiver

Set it up immediately. Paired it with Onkyo 7.1 speakers and powered sub. Used new HDMI cables and the whole thing sounded excellent. All 7 channels provide clear sound. easy setup using HDMI. Took longer to run stupid speaker wire than linking up components. Audio set-up is easy. Has Microphone do all the work. Lazy mans receiver. I finally bought quality in this Sony. It is more than enough for the Movie enthusiast.Has more than enough input configurations to match up your components. If I went with the wireless speakers the device set-up is seemingly simple. That still may be in the future.
I love that it is a Sony; what I disliked is that the remote cannot be programmed. Easy to hook-up; and the programming wasn't too difficult; but took alittle getting use to. The other dislike is when you hook up HDMI equipment the cords are pricey; but over-all worth it. I'm not sure the extra cost to hook up AIR adapter will cost; but I may look into it in the future. It's a great reciever for the price!!! Thankyou.
Just purchased and hooked up my receiver. Works great easily setup. Only bad thing is that you cannot JUST hookup the unit via HDMI. You have to connect each monitor out to your TV. If you want to use component you have to run a separate connection, same with composite too. So if you want to use all three (HDMI, Component, and Composite) you will have to run three separate connections. This is DUMB!
