I used to have a copy of this on vinyl back in the day. Though it was not their breakthrough release, it has aged extremely well and still sounds great today. When I first heard this the highlight for me was definitely the spectacular guitar on "Paris is Burning." The title track and "Stick to Your Guns" also really caught my attention. But upon revisiting this I rediscovered some tracks I had somehow overlooked back in the 80s, including "Felony", "Seven Thunders", and "Young Girls." Also the production on this record is top notch. Highest recommendation!

This is a good album but I think that it needs more bonous material. I like guitarist George Lynch's guitar playing it kind of reminds me of Randy RHodes ,or Eddie Van Halen. I also think that the title track Breaking THe CHains was a reighonal hit I think the album made THe Top Twenty on THe BIllboard charts in 1982. Its a pretty good raw debut for a knowne band out of LOs Angelese ,or rather HOlleywood California. The songs are pretty roughff but there's some good stuff on here. In particuluar I like the tracks Seven THunders, and Rock To live Live to Rock. Its too bad that George Lynch and singer Done Dokken don't get along very well. I wish they could get back together and create more great music like this. It's just a shame. Some don't see this album as a good release but I think that the songs are pretty good. Beasides the songs I just menchtioned I also think the live versettion of Parris is Burning doesn't hurt either. I just wish the band had put some more thought into this album and added more bonous material. Read full review
