These Boss AW3 pedals can be found easily and for very reasonable prices. I have tried a few other of these auto-wahs and I like this particular pedal much better! You can tap the pedal twice to lock in a setting. The range of wah sounds I get out of this pedal makes it my preference. And the body is metal. It is full size rather than the mini size that is so common now. I prefer this size. It offers more stability.

This pedal didn't really impress me on bass, and I sold it after only a single use. The wah sounds a bit thin and unnatural, and the vocal function is very lo-fi. I'd reccomed the MXR bass auto wah or the Digitech synth wah for vocal sounds over this pedal. For now I'm sticking with my old Dunlop bass wah. I love Boss and wah-wah, but this pedal didn't really do it for me.

Yes it's digital. But it can do what my Maxon AF9 can't do. Too much to describe in a review. I'm keeping both for different reasons. I've had many envelope filters and auto wahs including the Mu-tron III, Q-Tron, Maxon AF-01 & AF-201, DOD FX25, etc. All I can say is that it's great and at the price you can get it used is worth the test. If you don't like it you can just resell it. The demos on YouTube don't do it justice. When you play it you might think it sounds a bit thin compared to your "envelope filter of choice" but in a band setting it cuts thru and sounds great! Hope this helps!

Excellent quality and has made a big difference on my pedal board. Value for money.

this pedal does several different things; the automatic wah is my fave, hit it twice and it wahs at that tapped tempo - change the tempo anytime (like to re-synch it with the band...)with two more taps. it also has envelope filter up, down, and sharp settings, they are all good; the humanizer setting is a bit noisy, but has lots of very cool variations; and the pedal is a little tricky to turn off in auto mode. I like it way better than having to work a wah pedal up and down; if you want to wah without a pedal, this is a great choice.
