The book has utility and is helpful in learning the language. It was probably written during the war in Bosnia or shortly there after. It has a few antiquated terms, ultimately harmless to the learner. The fact that it is written almost exclusively in the formal is not good for a person wishing to learn for causal conversation. Businesspeople or diplomats should be advised to only use this book because of its size and ease in use, not for its accuracy and level of useful content. Overall, the dictionary and phrase book should have a GOOD rating, mostly only because there are so few sources like it. Compared to other language sources it is below average. The language is complicated and enjoyably challenging. I recommend learning the language and this book might be a good starting point.
Got this for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift, so he can start learning my language. This is a very comprehensive dictionary with some keyphrases in the back as well. The only thing that's missing is the pronunciation, which will make it difficult for somebody who does not speak a Slavic language to pick up on the dialect and how to properly say words. Overall, good item - just not perfect.
