Bose is the best
The sound that comes out of this unit is unbelievable! If you do not have alot of room for a real stereo system, this is a great option. I have owned a few of these over the years, and was very disappointed to learn that they discontinued the product. What a shame. I think that they are worth every penny spent, because of the superb sound quality!. As someone who owns alot of CDs, this is such a convenient unit...you can have it located anywhere in your home.I highly recommend this product! Good sound but dated engineering for the FM receiver.
Although the sound quality (loudness, frequency response and such) is very good, this radio does not receive HD-FM (digital FM) signals. I get quite a bit of static and the radio's external FM antenna connector is propriotary, not the standard screw-on "F" connector. I thought a table radio in this price range should receive HD-FM. Lightweight with great features
Very good quality, nice sound system, easy to use, light weight, I love it. Just one suggestion -- when the delivery person came, he just simply put the original box by the door, the original box was very wet by the snow/rain, soak into inside the instruction paper, but not the machine. New Generation
I had an earlier generation Sound Wave and liked it very much. Unfortunately it stopped playing CD's. It was over 10 years old. I decided it was time to replace it. U am very impressed particularly with the streaming feature. I subscribed to SiriusXM and it is great how the device plays it. Set up was very easy and I am able to control it from my smartphone and IPad in addition to the remote. The sound really appears to be better also. I've wanted one of these systems for eons. I love the compact size and BIG sound. So easy to set up and move from one room to another. Virtually a plug and play system. I look forward to getting an AUX IN connector to run my TV through the Bose system. I see no reason to invest in a home theatre audio system that takes up so much space when I can get such quality sound out of this unit. It does the job elegantly.
The Bose Radio IV came in a timely manner. It has no visible scratches or dings, appearing virtually new. It was packaged in an original box with what appeared to be a new instruction book and remote. Set-up was easy. Simple controls. Sound is a bit boomy but overall pleasant to my aged ears. There is one setting for lower base response but that also seems to blunt or blur the midrange and treble response. Again, overall pleasant sound, certainly adequate for a bedside unit. No built-in Bluetooth but there is an AUX port so I can plug in my devices and stream Spotify or other music source. Alternatively, the AUX port could be used for an inexpensive wireless receiver box to allow wireless streaming. There are two alarm settings which would be helpful for a working person with separate weekday and weekend schedules (I am retired). I do like the touch-top control that allowsfor a simple touch to cancel an alarm or turn on or off the radio so I don't have to fumble in the dark. Note that all settings are otherwise dependent on the remote, SO DON'T LOSE IT! I am overall happy with this unit. Best system on the market
I told a co-worker that I was buying one and his reply was that he heard it had really great sound but that since we were over 62 years old and our hearing at our age is really not that great we would properly not be able to hear how great it really is. Can you believe he told me that. Well I saw him after the purchase and told him I have some news for him on the Bose at 62 years old I can hear the difference and the system for being soo small was the best I ever heard. You can hear every instrument that was being played and the singers voice Oh my god. At first I was really skeptical about spending such a large amount on such a small unit. And yes the reviews were fantastic but I really thought it could not be that great. So I decide to take the plunge and buy it thinking I could send it back if I didn’t like it.
