I love debut albums and this was a real doozie. I remember when this came out it was a must have back then. This and 7800 degree f. were the first of Bon Jovi and the bands very successful studio releases and I prefer this title to all of the others mainly because it is truly hard rock but with a twist, every song also tells a story. Between the excellent vocals, very well written songs, Tico Torres beating the skins with passion and Ritchie Sambora playing his arse off on lead guitar this is easily one of the top 25 debut's of all time...especially if you look at the length of time and success of the band that followed after this breakthrough release.
Bon Jovi's debut cd is solid from start to finish. Very enjoybale cd that plays all the way through without needing the fast foward button. Definetly a recommended cd to add to your collection. You won't be disappointed. I'm a huge music fan with a wide selection of taste and this cd will always be one of my favorites. So grab this cd, put it through a long ride in a good sounding car stereo and put your wannabe singing voice to work, or just jam out at home with it. Either way, I think you'll find this to be a very solid selection!
I bought this album (yes album, not cd)when it first came out. I got rid of my collection several years ago due to space and playing equipment. This is one I just got around to replacing on cd. I had forgotten just how good the first one really was-not just the hits, but every track. If you like Bon Jovi and don't have this first one you owe it to yourself to get it-especially the remastered version. It rocks!
Bon Jovi is a wonderful singer, and one of my favorites. I saw him in Concert once. He never puts out a bad album: all his albums are wonderful, and I got some new ones I didn't used to have.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: New
Bon Jovi is just one of those bands that keeps churning out hits. Their self-titled release is no exception. Even though it is poppier than their later releases, it sure does not disappoint. I have only listened to the first four tracks so far and they all rocked! This CD may not have the guitar lines Bon Jovi is famous for yet, but the tracks make up for it with tasty hooks and great melodies. This one is definitely a keeper in my book!
