I do like quality and believe you can have quality without having to mortgage your home for it. 30 years ago 440c stainless steel was the m390 or sv35nm of its time. Everybody wanted 440 , and it was cool to have the best just as it is today I suppose. I have and have had many 440 knives over my 50 some years and never had one fail me. Tough as nails rust resistant and slightly able to flex without breaking, it makes a great all purpose blade . They are easy to sharpen and hold a good edge. The Mtech brand of knives, just as with any Knife company, you have your good, bad and ugly knives, all of the extreme series knives I've purchased from them have been exemplary, fit, finish ,sharpness out the box. For the price they can't be beat. The ballistic series for the most part are nice as well. But I wouldn't recommend the basic knives they offer although very very cheap they're fit and finish is that of a Yugo car if you remember those bombs from the 1980's lol all in all if you stick to the extreme or ballistic series, you will get a decent knife for the money. Very much capable of doing just about anything a 500. 00 knife will do, survive, cut, and defend. I do suggest that you do away with the dangerous nylon sheaths they give you. One bad fall and the knife is coming through that cheap nylon and flimsy insert. I make kydex sheaths for all my knives, far superior protection from you getting cut from an fall or accident. If you stick to the Mtech knives that have G10 or micarta handles they are tough, chemical resistant and should last a lifetime. For those of you that say (I'd never own a Chinese knife) I dare you to find one of your favorite designers that haven't sold out to have their knives made overseas, whether it be Taiwan, china, Singapore and other eastern countries. Emerson, Osborne, zero tolerance to name a few have all gone to overseas countries for their production knives. A Bonedaddy review!Read full review
