I have had this weedeater for 4 years now and I think you can’t beat it. I bought one of a different brand at Walmart and it was a piece of junk. High priced junk. This weed eater is light weight, excellent for edging, and powerful enough to handle weeds. You just can’t beat the this weed eater. You will like it.

The only thing negative that I see is that the auto feed keeps the line at about 4" a little longer would be better

I got this for the price and because I don't want orange extension cords to be a part of my life any longer. At 20V I imagined that I'd just sort of putter around in our small postage stamp size yard, but this thing has some serious get up and go. It takes down tall grass pretty easy, edges nicely (though holding it inverted or sideways to do it is a little awkward) and I have no problem with the spool / feed mechanism. I like how it collapses down to store and the battery charges to full relatively quickly (takes about 45 minutes to an hour to recover from our average use). Quiet for the most part, and the shield does a nice job of not getting in the way of using it while saving your shins from the stuff that gets kicked up. All in all, this has almost the same power as those echo 2-cycle trimmers while on a full charge, and enough power to take care of everything else all the way down to being almost empty. Do your edging and heavy trimming first, and you should be fine. I cut our small lawns plus a couple of neighbors, so imagine a total 30x30 area with lots of edging, bird feeders, trees, sidewalk, stairs, etc to trim around. Honestly, this exceeded my expectations and I recommended it to a neighbor and let them try it out.Read full review

The light weight makes this an ideal grass cutting tool for older people. The shorter arc length (10") means a little slower going, but it certainly is up the the average around home grass trimming job. I like the quiet running. A second battery would be a big plus.

This is a replacement for one that lasted for 4 years of hard use in a rural setting. The 20 volt B & D system fits perfectly into my trio of tree trimmer, drills, and weed eater all using the same batteries and charger set up. Light weight yet sturdy and no cord to tie you down and no gas or oil to store.
