I love BIlly Blanks, his fitness program has helped me lose over 120 pounds and keep it off for over 2 years. I do Tae Bo at least 3 times a week and was very excited about these new workouts. I LOVE the new Billy Bands - the new bands with the weights really rev up my workout and are changing up familiar workouts. The getting started mission is perfect for the beginner, and the maximum power workout is a lot of fun. I wish it was a little more strenuous, and I really wish there was more ab work as in the original boot camp series. The orginal BC workouts leave you knowing you worked every part of your body in one hour. I recommend these for the bands and the fun cardio!
This is a three disk set. The first one is fast but ok for a beginner. The second one will definitely keep you sweating. The third one has awkward movements. It has left bruises on my arms both times I have tried to use the billy bands for the third one because of the way you are stretching them and wrapping them around your shoulders. Different placemet was used each time, so I think its just never going to be comfortable. As long as you are ok with the first two I recommend it, but the bruises and pain from being squeezed is not worth it to me for the third one.
I bought the VHS tapes a few years back and I loved them. I Manage a business and along with the job comes much stress... I saw an ad on tv and I thought well let me try it. I could not believe how better I felt when I did the exercises the first time, I was sold and also I was very sore, but that didn't stop me from doing my TAE BO. I truly felt so much better during the day, I was more energetic at work and if I had a bad day, I would come home and imaging what was bothering me and I would punch the day lights out of it, I love the imaginary punch bag, it's awsome. I only have one 8 minute workout video left out of all the VHS's I had and it's broken but I still can do it! I had been wanting to buy some of the new workout DVD's but I couldn't. My husband lost his job and we were on a tight budget, today I thought, HUM I wonder if TAE BO is available on EBAY, it sure was and I got it at an incredible price. Thank you so much, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!Read full review
I do travel a lot so I always take these DVDs and the bands with me whenever I travel. I would say that if you travel and cannot go to a gym but want to stay fit, this set could be a good option for you if you work out at least three times a week. You can do it in your room. I like mission two as that's the one that had made me sweat. Mission one is for beginners and mission three is good but I do recommend that you complement it with other exercises for the abs. I would say that the bands are the problem. If you are lucky, they will last about a year before they break if not less, besides that, it is a good and cheap alternative for your workout routine
I really enjoy this workout and feel it's a great rotation to fit in each week. The Jump Start dvd, is a great starter video. It took me about a month to "master" it with the bands. Now, I'm working on the Maximum Power which is really amazing for your arms. Billy works out your legs pretty good towards the end and I definately feel it in my gluts the next day. WOW! The abs workout is one I alternate with the Boot Camp Abs. Love both of them! This is a must have for Tae Bo fans and it's a great way to begin your Tae Bo workout.
