Item does warm up and will help but, if you are sitting still for hours in the bitter cold (like deer hunting) your toes will get cold. I have even used these in my wool "flip-able" gloves/mitts, and they will help keep your fingers from getting numb, so they do help. The double A batteries they take are cheaper than the D cell batteries that the old battery heated socks take, so they will be more economical but, the old battery heated socks will keep your toes warmer if you are sitting still for hours hunting in the bitter cold.

The idea of this product and the electrical design functionally is correct and in warmer ambient temperature 50ish degress F the heat is felt almost immediately. But when ambient temperature drops in the 30ish degrees F its just two pieces of plastic with no heat at all felt on one and barely barely any heat was felt on the other. I thought at first I had bad batteries so I changed those out with no effect at the lower temps. No grip and a larger battery pack could make the difference but the product states do not use with any other battery i.e don't modify with a bigger battery pack.

Product warms up and will help but, if you are sitting still for hours, (hunting in the bitter cold), then they are not going to be warm enough to keep your toes from getting cold. I have even used them in my "flip-able" wool glove/mitt, with the same results. These will keep your fingers from getting numb, so they do help, and double A batteries are cheaper than D cell batteries but, the old battery heated socks will do a better job keeping your toes warmer for those hours spent sitting in bitter cold weather like deer hunting.

I wore them for one day, and they stopped working. They are so ridiculously flimsy, it isn't funny. At first glance they seem like quality foot heaters. And like I said before they stopped working, and after one day they looked like crinkled foot heaters. The wires on the little circuit boards break off extremely easily. The retractable cords going to the pads make a lot of noise when you walk and are always retracting and detracting. Also, unless it's extremely cold you can't really tell if they work or not since they heat up to body temperature at 95 degrees. You also have to pull the battery pack and the wire up your pant legs when your putting on your pants, so always put the foot heaters on before you button your pants.

Barely produced only the slightest amount of heat for a few minutes on the first day. It sucked the life out of the new batteries as well. Did not feel warmth of any kind in my boots. By the second day I had to change the batteries and didn't feel any heat at all with my hands so I didn't bother attaching the battery pack to my socks in order to wear in my boots. Also, opening the battery compartment was extremely difficult to say the least!
