This thing is super heavy duty - my husband actually use one at his work as a maintenance engineer for a hotel - that's how we decided to get it because we knew it works great in industrial uses. But! Surprisingly easy to use! It looks bulky and clunky, but they've made it so it's super maneuverable and gets into amazingly tight spots. Can't wait to use its attachment to clean our stairs and upholstery! My carpets look so much better than they ever did - even when we first moved in here years ago. Definitely worth the price!

IT CLEANS IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. This point is key. Add extra soap and scrub it going forward, extract and scrub going backwards. My white carpets were damn-near brown and black when I started, (dog and two kids) and I usually power-clean it with two rental rug doctors for about 6 hours every 3-6 months, so we finally did some research and bought our own unit. We bought the red rug doctor for Walmart for $270, too small of reservoirs and spent most of my time refilling. Didn't clean well. Returned and it was between this and the commercial rug doctor. Last minute decided on this, and we love it. It does a great job, and once the carpet is looking clean I go over it all once more with hot water and a cup of peroxide to extract extra soap. This unit blows a lot of hot air under the machine so I leave it set in the middle while running empty to speed dry. Hopefully they make one that's about 3 feet wide eventually! All in all it's about the easiest to use, easiest to replace belts and refill, just an all around good machine. Read full review

I bought this to replace my Rug Doctor cleaner which didn't have a rotating brush which the Bissell Big Green does. Cleans much better. Connecting the hand held stair attachment is also much easier to set up than was my Rug Doctor. Overall a very good product for cleaning rugs and upholstery.

been using for years all kinds rentals and purchased carpet cleaners , but never have one like this one! my carpet is dry in matters of an hour or less depending on the weather. The only negative side is that you can’t get to tight spaces so you have to clean manually otherwise fantastic cleaner !

As the owner of a small apartment complex I purchased the Big Green Machine after a tenant left the premises an absolute mess .They also violated the "no smoking" clause of the lease. Needless to say I had the carpets professionally cleaned prior to them moving in and was told by a couple different people that more than likely I would need to replace the carpet because of the smell, food, and nicotine stains. I decided to give Bissell a shot. I paid around $400 for the Big Green Machine and it's worth every penny. I was able to save myself from replacing the carpet which paid for it many times over. I'm very impressed with how well this cleans and how dry the carpet is after being cleaned. I did pre-treat the bad spots and went over the carpet a couple different times but it looks great and after re-painting the entire apartment, the smoke smell and stains are gone. Read full review
