I installed this item in 3 hours. I am a commercial maintence tech by trade. The item works as advertised. It is just like one that you would find in a new car except the screen is a little smaller. 4.3" The screen is very clear and there are green, yellow and red lines to guide your rear progress. I am very happy with the result. I would advise anyone that is not a handyman to study the way car panels are put together so you can have a clean finished job at the end. YOu can find videos of car panel removal on Youtube. The instructions are very basic to the point of humor. You will have to know something about electrical wiring to do this job. It's a straight foreward process though. Wiring it up to the rear lights only took 30 minutes. Wiring up the TV screen took 5 minutes plus having to run the wire under the dash board and to a 12v plug. Most of my time was spent running the wires under the panels. I installed it in a SUV. The licence plate is on the rear hatch door of the SUV. This necessitated running the camera wire from the outside licence plate area, through the door, up to the hinge of the door and then down the side frame of the SUV to the rear tail light. There are usually lots of holes in the frames of car doors so it isn't as difficult as it sounds. You just have to remove the panels. I would highly recommend that you tape all wire with rubberized tape to prevent the wire from rubbing against the metal holes that you use and to prevent a short. There is a lot of vibration in cars and the wire could wear out quickly. Hope this helps.Read full review

I just installed it. The biggest challenge was where to drill the hole for the camera cable to go into my Camry trunk lid and where to drill in the double panel of the trunk lid to bring the cable wires to the backup lights. I had to use a stiff wire with a loop to snake it through. I mounted the antenna also in the trunk lid and it gets a strong signal to the monitor on my dash board without any interference. I am very pleased with it so far.

I questioned whether this could work in my pickup, but tackled it anyway. Green wire (+); either black wire ( -). Ran the camera wire under the back of the frame to the tail light compartment through the bottom hole. Connected the RCA plugs by pulling them into the square stake hole in the top rail, wrapped them in stretch, self sealing electrical tape as did the joints on the camera wire to make them as waterproof as possible and pushed the RCA connected plugs back into the stake hole. Mounted the transmitter on the bed wall. Plugged the screen in and put in reverse. Wala! Worked perfect. Drove 200+ miles in rain, used it several times and no issues.

Camera was easy to install, and works great. Screen is crystal clear. I need this as I am having back problems and turning around to look out my rear window is sometimes painful. This camera is perfect for my situation.

This is my second Auto Vox backup camera. I installed the first one in my truck worked great bright clear picture with good wide view. I’m putting the second camera in my 2017 Ford Fusion as the screen for the backup camera is too small and hard to see. I’ve recommended this system to several friends!
