For those of you desiring of having some help while backing up your car (especially the ones with big cars/trucks), this is one of the cheap yet working tool to achieve so. This by no means a perfect solution: the camera angle is no more than 150 degrees, hence it won't give you all what you need while backing up from parking lot; you still need to look to your rear right and left beforehand. However, it does help you a lot in figuring out the distance between your car and the next thing while you're backing up. In short, it gives you more confidence. It may not give 'OEM' look, since it has its own monitor rather than built-in to your car, however, it does give you instant help. By the way, I think you should be able to buy after-market stereo unit capable of displaying video so that you can replace this standard monitor with something 'built-in' in your car dashboard. I can say so since I have to extend the standard wires to some 3 feet so that I can install on my Sienna. This unit uses 3 pieces of wires (positive, negative, and video infeed). So obviously the video infeed wire can be fed to a video-capable head unit. So overall, it's a great buy.Read full review

You get a clear and reliable picture with this product. The installation was relatively easy on my daughter's 2012 Honda Fit. The camera fits nicely at the license plate. My research told me that a cable from the camera to the viewing screen was the way to go. Wireless models suffer from unreliability.....your outcome may vary. Routing the cable will vary by vehicle and by how much you want it hidden. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I spent 2 hours carefully removing the rear hatch panel and other pieces of car trim. You can do it much faster if you're less picky. I did have to cut and splice the power wire directly into the rear light wire...as opposed to using the "taps" provided in the kit. The taps just wouldn't power the camera. The suction cup mount requires a glue (included) to adhere to a windshield or side window. The glue failed in less than a year and the suction cup does not provide enough suction to adhere to the windshield glass. Sun's heat was to blame. I found a suitable replacement in one trip to Ross stores. I purchased a mount intended for cell phones....but it fit the viewing screen perfectly....and it's suction cup really holds to the little side window. If nothing else, some Velcro sticky tape could mount it on your dash. I do recommend that you find a dash location where the screen will not be launched at you by deploying airbags.Read full review

Very easy to install. Picture is one of the clearest I have ever seen. Never would have thought I would get this quality or ease of installing.

Basic installation easy, but with a hatchback, it requires some extra ways to install. If installed as shown, the wires will be in the way when loading through hatchback.
