Favorite feature is it is NO DRIP! Built in Ant moat is cool too. Just bought the nectar guards to try and prevent flying bugs from crawling in the feeding ports and dying and cruding up nectar. Hope they help and birds still can feed.

The wire stem on this product is made of brass, not copper. As ants are often a problem with hummingbird feeders, you should make sure the wire stem is made of copper, because ants will not cross it, and it will prevent ant problems. The vendor should be upfront (assuming they know about copper's anr-repelling properties) and state whether the stem is made of copper or some other material. As this was recommended to me by a friend, I didn't think until after I'd ordered to ask about the stem metal. While this feeder functions just fine, I may have to wrap fine copper wire around the crook and stem to prevent ants.

This my fourth one, a spare for vacations. Two other 12 oz ones were given as gifts, and the first one I bought a couple of years ago is still in use and attracting the little birdies. Excellent design, rugged and extremely easy to clean and refill. I use 1/4 c of cheap white cane sugar mixed with 1 c of cool tap water. I mix a new 8 oz batch every 3 to 4 days, along with cleaning.

I have had many different feeders over the years, red glass, plastic with yellow flowers, etc. but once I put this feeder out my hummingbirds have been going crazy for it and seeing as you should change their sugar water every 3-5 days I never understood the huge capacity feeders; this is perfect just buy it!

I love the size of this feeder. It's easy to clean and doesn't run me out of sugar.
