This particular one is from 2016, on the late 2014 design. Has 8GB of ram, and 1TB hard drive. A little slow, but can have the hard drive upgraded to a SSD drive. Have an old Macbook Pro I put a solid state drive in it, and it screams now. I have upgraded to High Sierra in it now and used Migration Assistant to transfer most files from windows. Can't do much about the Ram memory though, but still has 4 usb 3.0 ports, 1 HDMI,, 2 Thunderbolt 2.0, SD slot. Really solid computer with a great operating system. Looked on eBay an found many item for this like, keyboard, mouse, usb superdrive. Paid less money than the computer would have cost me by itself new..

I did not do my research and found out that my 2014 unit is too hard to upgrade, the ram is soldered in, so to upgrge it new ram would need to be soldered in. Also, it requires you to totally disasemble the unit to get to the HD to replace it with a larger one or a solid state one.The standerd HD is a 5400rpm unit and is too slow, a solid state HD would increase the operating speed as it does in my other apple computer. I may be looking for a pre-2014 unit that can be upgraded by only removing the bottom cover.

Have used Macs for years. Never learned to work on PC. This is my 2nd mini. Have used towers and other Mac products when working and home use but loved the mini from the start. I am 77 years old and for however much longer I use computers it will be an Apple product.

Great value to use as a home server! Five years old but still runs the current Mac OS and is whisper quiet. Four USB3 ports makes it great for external drives. This replaced a 15-year-old headless PC server (running Windows XP Pro)

Good Mac mini if you going to do regular stuff like email and surf the internet but not for me I ended up buying a EVO 850 ssd and a external UASP enclosure and use it as start up now i can see the difference in speed is easy to do it just goggle there is a lot info of how to do it.
