I live in the Boston area far away from the television towers. I had been using a highly rated floppy square antenna with mixed reviews. The stations would come in but would fade in and out and I was constantly having to fidget with it. I researched antennas and came to the conclusion this was the best option. I get the same number of stations but with much better clarity and minimal fading in and out. For that I am happy. I live on the first floor of an apartment building far from the towers and have to deal with downtown Boston interfering with the stations to the north and west. For all the interference in my path the stations I do get are much better quality than the flopping square antenna sold by the place named after a large river system in South America. I can live with the bulk as I will move next year and out of the reception interference zone. Interestingly, I get the best reception with the unit sitting on the floor away from the windows. Go figure --but it is Boston.Read full review

I purchased this antenna because I had read tons of positive reviews on several sites. I live in a difficult area 30 miles from the main towers in Washington DC. I live on the first floor of an apartment building and an outdoor antenna is not an option. That said, I never expected to receive a bunch of channels. When I first set it up I received NBC and I was pleased with that because I could get local news and weather. Then it just stopped receiving any signal at all. I have repositioned it and rescanned for channels many times and even hooked it up to a newer tv with no luck.

We are using the antenna indoors and it works well. As with all antennas, it takes time to locate the best spot to maximize channels. Be patient, use different length cables, and find the best spot in the room. We are in a condo so we can't mount it outdoors, but I imagine we would get even more stations if we could. When buying, keep in mind that where you live and where you place the antenna when you get it, dictates what stations you will receive. We are getting great, clear pictures on all the major networks and their substations: ABC, ME TV, ION, CW, CBS, Antenna TV, FOX, NBC, COZI, and 4-5 religious stations in English and Spanish. The stations all come in extremely clear. Unfortunately, in our location, no matter how hard I tried, I could not pick up a PBS station. If you don't already have cable to connect from your set to the antenna, make sure you buy one the length you need and be aware that placement of the cable also influences reception.Read full review

This antenna has surpassed my expectations for sure. All channels are coming in clear. It is out performing my previous $250 Terk. The only complaint I have is that this refurbished unit has a broken plastic piece (still in the box). But it seemed like too much hassel to send it back. Delivery was late as well but eBay issued a $5 credit under the guaranteed delivery program. Over all I am pleased with the value and performance of this antenna which I had purchased based on the recommendation of an existing owner.

light weight easy to set up, great value and range of 60+ miles is excellent. I would not recommend mounting it inside. I only got 15 instead of the 39 channels i now get.
