This was another installment in the continuing Animal Ark series. As always in this series, the story was well written and age appropriate to the middle school audience to which the series is geared. The book was actually for my 9 year old daughter and she loved it. I too read it since I like to know to what my child is being exposed. I WOULD CONFIDENTLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES OF BOOKS to any parent who has an animal crazy child. The vocabulary level is challenging without being daunting. The moral lessons are acceptable mainstream themes. The storylines are age appropriately intriguing and exciting fiction. Also, it is obvious to me that the background research for these various stories is done accurately. I know this because this particular book centered around a Scottish Deerhound. NOT a well known breed but one which I have owned for over twenty years. In short, they got it right. Being personally very familiar with horses, cats and many purebred dog breeds, I can say the series gets it right the majority of the time.Read full review
