I went to guitar center and tried out a bunch of bass combo amps in the 500 dollar range. I use a big ampeg rig for a lot of my rock n roll gigs with a four piece band, and was looking for something not so heavy or big for the smaller gigs with the smaller stages. This amp sounds great , I typically play my fender P bass at the gigs and this little amp has that ampeg bass sound. you don't really get the full 450 watts until you plug in that exterior 8 ohm cabinet, at the store I plugged in a 2-10 cabinet and was so surprised how great and loud this combo was . Note most combos out there do not have an extra speaker plug in and this was another reason I chose this combo. also the direct out is nice and most of the combos at this price have it. the eq is great giving you that ampeg control over the sound. On a less than impressive note the scrambler effect is worthless and I am surprised by how bad it is I will never use it ,it makes the amp sound cheap and crappy. Ampeg would have been better off using that space for a built in compressor. I love this little combo and its well worth the 500 dollars.Read full review

While not as deep toned as the 15-inch version, when combined with a 15 inch external cabinet, this amp gives the perfect bass tone. If you only need one smaller amp for practice, I'd recommend the 15 inch amp. But if you play out at all, the extra wattage from this cabinet makes a big difference. Like other people have mentioned, I think the overdrive is a gimmick (One that that I'll never use.) It would have been nicer to have a built in compressor / limiter instead. Maybe next year's model...

Exceptionally full sound with a great low end and punchy mid-tones & high end. Using the front - panel line out makes connection with P.A. simple. Numerous unsolicited feedback from band and audience indicate excellent clarity and strength of tone. Love the "monitor" design rather than getting sound in my knees, I can hear clearly without blasting everyone else out.

Combined an Ampeg PF115LF Portaflex 400 watt cabinet with my new Ampeg BA-210v2. NOW you have a monster rig on your hands. Sweetened the bottom overall. I use mine on both bass guitar and keyboards. Sounds phenomenal with either! I highly recommend both the combo amp and this cabinet together. Only gripe? Made in China. Bring them back to St Louis!
