Patterns are drawings of the quilt pattern, with the directions on how to put the quilt together. At first I was disappointed with the black & white, and then I realized that I could now see my own color choice in the pattern rather than looking at a quilt and screaming because it was all in orange. In many color picture quilts, the color scheme in the book overwhelms the pattern. So I've decided I like it. The book also was well written. It cleared up for me just what makes a quilt look Amish. The discussions also discuss the differences between strict & less strict, and mennonite patterns and colors. It is a book I will choose to keep in my library
Liked the instructions and patterns; but wish had been in color. A lot of patterns to choose from; good instructions; clear and concise.
Patterns and instructions well written. Book is in black and white. Color would have been so helpful.
