Possibly the comeback light of 2018. The Derby Effect is as old as a Technics 1200, and DMX controlling the beams is like putting lipstick on a frog, however when it switches to the laser, it adds a little something. DMX control is fine to use a certain color, but thats a waste as I use it in auto mode or sound active. The remote control (not included) is good so you can put it into blackout. the real gem is when it switches to laser, which means sell your lasers and get one of these to save time putting up a laser at your gig.

This fixture is very bright, but there’s only 2 shows to choose from other than the random Show 0. One show is laser only, the other is derby only. Maybe this light is better used hooked up to a DMX controller so you can choose your colors better. In stand alone & sound active, there’s very little options. I didn’t pay full price for this light. I found an open box deal. I would be disappointed if I had paid full price for this. Laser is pretty good, & this thing is lightweight. Looks great with or without fog, but I don’t think I’d buy this light again. I feel like ADJ dropped the ball on this one.
