It is not one of those toy kinds
This microscope actually outperformed my expectation at the lower price point. This is a solid build student microscope. I'm even recommending it to my wife's school. The prepared slides, especially the fly leg, was a hit with the kids. I would suggest just using the 10X eyepiece as the 25X would make images dimmer and require more light. I also wish there was a power button instead of plugging and unplugging (if I simply missed it, someone please show me how to turn the light off). Another bonus would be if the cover slides along with the blanks were included. I also didn't see any instruction manuals or general info. Other than that, I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Good Quality, hard to use
Good beginner microscope for the money, its a good price and very high quality materials. My largest issue is that on full magnification, the largest lens has to be in contact with the slide/smashed down into the recess on the platform in order to focus. You cannot look at anything that hasn't been sliced 2d and covered with a slide cover (otherwise it ends up on the lens) This made it hard to show the kids things like the shape of salt vs sugar etc etc.

The bolt that sustained the light emitting LED light was shattered. I wanted to protest, but the distance was long and it took time, so I decided to just use it. I think the company should look more closely at the status of the product when shipping it in the future. The product is satisfactory. Thank you.

Poor microscope
The microscope does not provide enough light to enhance details of items viewed, the stage does not adjust low enough to make it practical for use other than viewing slides, However, the slides still look very dark and ypu can't differenciate anything. I had to add light with a flashlight to view anything. Not recommended, buy a more expensive one
