Great slave flashes. I used them on an outdoor wedding to provide extra light. Had them on light stands about 20 feet each from the camera. They provided enough light to fill with the sun behind the subjects, fired reliably and recycled quickly.

Cons -Poor make of battery shutter door -Battery compartment inside not well designed -Lower compartment of pouch comes with diffuser and battery hooks, but it cannot fit spare battery and diffuser at same time -Spare Receivers for wireless triggers not sold separately, so the combo does not help much if looking to expand Pros Lot of accessories included

So far, I have been impressed with the Altura flash units that I purchased. I was looking for an LCD screen, TTL, EASY and economical flash for my Nikon cameras. I have people with varying degrees of photographic knowledge using them, so easy and TTL were imperative. I needed several of them and didn't want to, or need to, spend several hundred dollars per flash for a Nikon brand SB speedlight. I found your units on Ebay, researched them the best I could and decided to purchase four of them. I purchased one of your two flash kits with two flash units, diffusers and a wireless flash trigger set, and also two additional flash units My observations are quite positive! I am impressed with the build quality of the units and the triggers. They are solid and seem sturdy. They are very easy to use in TTL or Manual or as a slave. The instructions were clear and concise. They work well on camera or off camera with the triggers. They have good power. I have tested them and they seem to be between a Nikon SB600 and SB800. I hope that the units durability will live up to my early satisfaction. I give these flash units a 5 star rating. They were an extremely good value. I would heartily recommend these flash units as a cost effective, easy to use, TTL flash unit.Read full review
I'll preface by saying most of my shooting is done indoors, with still-life types of shoots. I mostly use the manual setting on the flash while it's in the hot shoe. Pros + Fast recycle times for 4 AA batteries + Plenty of manual flash strength settings + Color temperature of the flash is ideal + Works fine with TTL on my D3200 + Flash can be swiveled and aimed practically anywhere Cons - Uses 4 AA batteries, so you will replace batteries often - Pullout diffuser and reflector card don't do much and seem like an afterthought, so you need to purchase or make one Overall this is a GREAT product for the price and I will buy more products with the Altura brand name when needed.

First thing you have to remember about this flash is WHAT YOU PAY FOR IT. For less than $100, I got a flash "system" that seems to meet my needs. I'm not a professional photog, just a guy who likes to take pictures. It fills the bill for me. I have experimented with all the possible ways to use it and it performs as expected in all modes producing very nice photos. If I were a professional, then maybe spending the several hundreds of $$$ for a Nikon Speedlite would be a better decision. This flash is a good value for the money. I would have given it a 5 star rating except for the somewhat limited user's manual that doesn't give a whole lot of info on just how to use the flash. However, there are many YouTube videos out there that will educate you in general on how to use a flash like this. I don't mind doing a little websurfing to save hundreds of dollars.Read full review
