I purchased this book for my son, it was on his school's required summer reading list. He enjoyed it more than I thought he would, so much that I decided to re-read it myself. Each chapter is a complete story unto itself, which makes for quick and easy reading. Each story has moral, or lesson, to be learned, and there was a story for every ocassion. I also really enjoyed it, so much that I read it in only a matter of two days. The only thing that I found disappointing was the strong religeous undertone. While it was not in any way offensive, as a non-religeous person I could have done without it. Mr. Fulghum writes like a minister (so much so that I suspect he is one, but I failed to read the bio in the book). I'd say this book is an easy read, maybe one chapter a day for an average reader who wanted to take the time to digest the message. However, I would not recommend it to any one who has a strong opinion (against) the Christian faith.Read full review
The first time I read the book was 10 years ago or so, give or take. Somehow I let my copy out to a friend and never got it back. I remembered how vividly the words sat me back down onto that little mat in my kindergarten classroom listening to the rules and what was expected of each of us. Sharing, playing together cleaning up your own mess. When I read the words written by Robert Fulghum, I instantly remembered the smell of paste, not glue, but that white sticky paste that undoubtedly someone in the class would eat. This book is a very easy read, and perfect for a rainy day, or sitting by the pool. Be careful what you may be drinking while reading, because more than once I laughed hard enough that it came out my nose. So, if you want reminisce or just enjoy a good laugh, this is the book for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I still do, and check out a few of Fulghum's other works with equally odd titles; It Was On Fire When I Lay Down On It, Uh-Oh, Beginning To End. They are all equally witty and easy to read. Enjoy!Read full review
Thoughts and observations of how simple things were growing up, and how our lives should be still. Robert's unique way of putting into words had me smiling, then laughing out loud and also in tears. Not tears of sadness, but of deep feelings. A treasure to read and pass along. I recently purchased five copies to give to my adult children. Lest we all forget, the simple, yet important things we learned in kindergarten.

A "must read" for everyone who wants to feel good and learn life's lessons. Originally, I was given a more condensed version, and later I ready the book and decided to purchase for friends, family, etc. because of its content and it make me smile a LOT! Robert Fulghum is wonderful.
Great copy of one of my favorite books. Like new!
