I grew up watching this beloved little wacky alien and now have passed that onto my children. I bought this product because I watched back in the 80's as ALF became a number one television show. My children have become big fans as well and this was purchased for them. We love this series so much that we will continue to buy each season until we have them all. It is a good wholesome comedy that all members of the family can watch. There is no shooting, killing, sexual violence, sexual displays, and whatever else you can imagine on shows today. If you are looking for an alternative to television today this is one of the better choices you could make.
i got satellite in the late 90's when i was barely 17. and before i got satellite i looked though the tv guides for cable and seen alf was just on cable. so i decided to get cable. and the only real reason i got satellite was to watch alf and all the other shows i seen when i was a kid. but as soon as i got satellite they took it off cable. so after soo long of not watching it. i had to get the seasons. i am 28 now. i rember sitting on the floor watching alf. reminds me when i was a kid. and evon to this day i still rember when the tanners left alf home alone. and when they came back alf came sliding across the kitchen floor singing into a pickel and having the big shades on. that was funny. and it stuck in my mind for the last 20ys. they dont make shows like they use to. i cant watch the newer shows and wonder what happened to the good old classics. but alf is a good classic show. great for kids! evon adults.. i may add this is the only season i ever wanted. i dont know why. maybe because i miss being a kid, and i miss the old shows on tv. i dont have season 4 of alf yet but i will soon. so all in all. id say this would be a awsome show to add to anyones movie collection. theres nothing like watching a alien try to eat cats. but then really doesnt. or scare the neighbors. evon solve some mysteries/crimes and make kids happy. he evon got a burglar, and the guy turned him self in... funny stuff. hopefully this helps on getting A.L.F. the series......make new memories. it may stick in the kids head. like it did for me. thanks for reading!!!Read full review
The old TV show, "ALF" was one of the few shows I never missed. Though I have most of the episodes of these few favorites recorded on VHS tape, I was overjoyed about the ALF series coming out on DVD. The quality of today's recordings and the fact that this product would be free of commercials were incentives that made up my mind to replace my VHS recordings with new DVD versions. However, the current retail price of a year of episodes of just about any TV series is a bit too high for me. That's where ebay came to my rescue. So far, I've been able to acquire three of the four seasons of ALF that are available, without feeling bad about what I've had to pay. The ones I've won were all new DVD's and have performed as such (absolutely no questionable quality here). Unlike my VHS recordings, these DVD's have been totally enjoyable. I think the only difference between my ebay wins and having bought these DVD's from a store is the noticeable amount of money still in my pocket, which is a comparison that I'm quite happy with. I am very, very satisfied with the first three seasons of ALF that I've won. Actually, I don't remember the quality of the original TV broadcasts being as good as is experienced watching these DVD's. For all who really enjoyed the ALF series on TV, I highly recommend that you obtain the DVD versions (I assume that the fourth season will be as good as the ones I have).Read full review
ALF is genuinely funny and clean entertainment. It is one of the very few (only 2 others) sitcoms since the 70's thru the current time (2019-- making 5 decades) that I have felt safe watching and not being offended. The ALF character/puppet is hilarious!!!! I had watched it on METV channel until I canceled cable, that's why I bought the DVDs. (Side note: As a senior raised with wholesome and funny sitcoms of the 50's and early 60's I became extremely disenchanted, offended and totally avoided sitcoms after the debut of that offensive Archie Bunker Family thing at the end of the 60's!!! That "breakthrough" series broke with what TV should be! From then on I watched only re-broadcasts of the old 50's sitcoms from my youth!!!)
