I'm trying to learn LINUX. I don't want to dual boot my system and while I have several older computers that can be used, I don't have space for yet another complete station. A kvm switch is a logical choice. I've done this before and have several different KVM's. My favorite works from the keyboard, but LINUX doesn't like it. Another has the activation button on the body which works, but makes placement a bit problematic. The remote switch on this unit makes placement of the main body easy and out of the way. The remote can be placed where it is easy to reach. For compatibility and ease of use, this kvm gets an A+

This KVM --keyboard-video-mouse-- switch with audio for two PCs does not require multiple cables, since the cabling to each PC is designed conveniently into the switch, avoiding spaghetti quagmires and the purchase of extra cables. Each shared device plugs directly into the switch. Keyboard and mouse are USB. Video is VGA. Audio is 3.5mm. It needs no power other than from the PC. It also has a cabled remote switch that can be placed next to the keyboard which switches all the devices at once from one PC to the other by pressing its button. Green lights on the small box indicate which PC the devices are connected to. It also provides shared audio out and microphone, which I find very useful since I have a video monitor which has stereo speakers. Excellent design, very useful.

VGA/SVGA connections only but it is very simple to set up and operate. Let's me switch back and forth between my Windows 10 game PC and my Linux work PC with no problems or issues at all.

I have two computers under my desk. One I use for video work and one for everything else. At the press of a button I can switch between them. The only drawback is no DVI, analog only. But then that's why the price was so low for this KVM. On a 22 inch monitor using home based video software, analog is not a detraction worth mentioning.

You look at most products and it is a ho-hum. But this one product stands out for the design, the quality, and the effectiveness. The cord between the two vga/keyboard/mouse is long enough to put the computers several feet apart. All the cords are combined into a single unit. It is just well designed and easy to use.
