allows one to pin each usb/indicator wire on to two larger units. This can be done outside the case, making it easy to read each one. Installing the two units to the motherboard was far easier than doing so with approximately 12 separate wires each with small print that must be matched to pins with equally small or non-existent markings. Definitely worth the cost.
