I was looking for a reader-friendly but instructive guide to brush up on the particulars of sail trim for this sailing season, as I'll be driving the boat this year for our weekly Tuesday night races. I found this guide to be the *perfect* balance between theory and practice; Mr. Walker's explications are clear, concise, and technical yet approachable. He keeps the unexplained jargon to a minimum, which should be especially helpful for beginners, and explains a lot as well. The contents of his guide would appeal to novice all the way through early advanced sailors. Having only been racing for 4 years myself, I found this book to be highly educational for me regarding new concepts, as well as very reinforcing for those concepts with which I am already familiar. Really great resource for anyone wanting to make their boat go *faster* - I highly recommend it for all sailors! This would be a wonderful reference for anyone's sailing library!Read full review
An essential reference to sailors who desire to improve their sailing efficiency!

This book is so bad I could not belive it. This guy took ten paragraphs to explaine a sail filling with wind.He is good at math but not at teaching sailing . I went all the way through the book looking for something that would help me ...nothing not a word that will help you sail a boat.He just likes to explain things with way too many words. Do not buy this book !!!
