Rodney Yee is the yoga instructor to the stars for a reason. His programs are accessible to practitioners at all levels, they have a great balance of the physical and the spiritual, and best of all, routines are only 20 minutes long, so you can mix and match several of them depending on your mood, needs and available time. This particular program is great for someone who has 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening available for a little body-mind work. You can switch am/pm to get more variety, or, as always, mix and match any way you like. I am very happy with this yoga DVD.

The content is excellent but the quality of the DVD is terrible. The video colour goes from almost too dark to see to normal throughout.I have had this DVD before so know how it is supposed to be. I would return it but it’s inconvenient and it seems to be difficult to find this older Rodney Yee DVD

I got this yoga tape because I bought a kickboxing tape and needed something to stretch out COMPLETELY all of my muscles. The PM Yoga is the absolute best. Its easy to understand and follow, and it stretches and calmes your mind and body. The first night I did the tape, I could barely make myself get up to turn off the tape at the end because I was so relaxed and the stretching had felt so good on my sore muscles. I have also found that with doing this tape, that my neck and back dont strain or hurt as much. I was in a car accident about 5 months ago and had whiplash, and it has gotten so much better since I have been doing this yoga. The AM part of the tape is something that I have only tried a handful of times. It just didnt help rejuvinate me or wake me enough. There was less stretching and deep breathing, and for getting up 20 minutes early to do it, I felt like it wasnt worth it. But the PM Part is my absolute favorite. I even got my boyfriend to do it with me (once. hahah) but he agreed with me at the end. I would recommend this tape for all beginners and would say that it has done just as promised and a bit more for me. It is a cool down. It has helped my back/neck not be sore. It stretches sore muscles from my kickboxing, and helped me to keep to my workout schedule. I LOVE THIS CD ! WELL WORTH THE MONEY, AND WELL WORTH THE TIMERead full review
As Rodney Yee says, it's better to do 20 minutes of yoga every day than to do 60 minutes once a week. That's what this DVD is about. Beginners, don't be swayed by the negative reviews here, you are on the right path. These routines are easy to follow as presented by Walden and Yee, require few props, & reflect the stillness & simplicity of yoga's philsophy. I once made a daily practice of the routines on this DVD, only to cut back to one routine per day, & now regret that I allowed the DVD to gather dust on the shelf for a few years. I only took it (& other Gaiam DVD routines) up again briefly to help my dance instructor during my 3-yr Ballroom, Latin, and Country & Western dance phase (Note: yoga & meditation is the very best thing for dancers—especially if you're at competion level—it will help you with focus, visualization, strength, & flexibility, all the things you need to succeed—and it will help you stretch to avoid injury, even if you're not competing). Years of stress due to "office politics" in a unionized gov't administration (with a union who always had "more important" things to do than support their membership, especially when I needed them most), & workplace bullying by insecure managers, supervisors, & co-workers who couldn't deal with my positive work ethic & the positive feedback I received from the Directors I was supporting, have finally taken their toll. I now have painful Osteoarthritis in my neck and spine in the wake of my difficulties at work and 7 rear-impact motor vehicle accidents over 14 yrs (the last in '05). My vehicle was already stopped (usually at an intersection) when each occured & I followed the required courses of treatment to the letter in each case (physio, chiro, & GTT accupuncture by my chiro). None however, was as emotionally or physically beneficial as yoga & meditation likely would have been. I am slowly taking up my daily practice of yoga & meditation again, which I'm not finding easy in my current state of mental and physical exhaustion. However, I have no choice if I want to live to see my two little grandchildren grow up—the Celebrex my doctor put me on for the arthritis has ravaged my stomach, to the point of causing anemia. To my detriment, I didn't listen to the man I met at a trade show last fall who told me what that drug would do based on his and others' experiences & I thought that I certainly had more than 6 months. Besides, I was enjoying the pain relief too much. I had also forgotten that yoga & meditation would have done a far better job of relieving my pain & job stress without this life-threatening side effect. Now I know—never take the easy way out—it's never worth it! Rodney Yee is right—even if you only do ONE of these workouts every day, keep it up for the rest of your life! You don't need to complicate things with something better, different, more challenging, or more exotic from the boundless variety and different types of yoga out there, or do a lengthy 60-minute routine. Keep it simple, just like these so you will memorize it (I was fortunate to get the CD version from Gaiam just as it went out of stock forever) and stay with it. I didn't, because I got busy and tired and thought I was too busy to fit my practice in anymore—that was my biggest mistake! No matter what's going on in your life, you MUST find a way to fit 20 minutes of yoga & meditation in every day. Not only will it change your life, it will SAVE your life!Read full review
To start off with, I consider myself an advanced beginner to yoga. While I know and understand how to do many of the poses, I am not as flexible as I would like. I think that this video is perfect for a beginner as it is not overly challenging and it is relatively quick (about 15 minutes for am/pm sessions each). The morning routine gently puts you through a number of techniques to awaken a rested but stiff body. It is easy to follow. You will need a yoga mat and a strap of some sort to help with flexibility. The pm yoga is a little more busy that the am version. It is easy to follow, definitely helps provide good results. I feel 100% more relaxed after completing it in the evening. Despite this, I still feel like I have actually done some work too. I would recommend for a beginner wishing to increase flexibility, decrease stress, and those with a shorter attention span.Read full review
