I have owned a chocolate 8550 for almost a year. It was the first slider ever that I purchased. I have always been a fan of the flip phones, but decided to see what all the hype was about. I liked the phone alot, more features on it than I had on all of my previous phones. The touch was also fairly accurate when touching the buttons compared to the first chocolate. But over time it seemed as though the touch would have its flaws. When touching the clear button it seemed sometimes you would tap it repeatedly for it to do the desired function. Battery life wasnt all that great, I seemed to get about 2days untill It needed charged with normal use. The main downside was the scratches, I purchased a case, and took good care of the phone but no matter what scratches would form on the front and back. Call quality was very good, never really had problems with service, every once in a while a drop call here or there nothing major. I love the size, easily fits into your pocket without noticing at times, lightweight desighn. I love the click wheel, it was very accurate and easy to use. bluetooth worked excellent on this phone as well. Speakers were loude, downloaded a couple ringtones and songs sounded really well. Over all this phone was good but not perfect. I think a little improvement in the touch would have made things better. I also wish the phone had a longer battery life 2 days is just not long enough for what I was using it for. But deffinitely an upgrade from alot of other phones.Read full review
I have had this phone for six monthes now and have had the time to learn all of it's quarkes. First off let me start by saying I love this phones sleek styling and all of it's great features. I love Haveing music at my fingertips wherever I go and I love the Micro SD expansion port to hold more songs. I also love the ability to adjust the key control sensitivity so people with colder fingers (like me) can still use the phone. However recently I've begune having a few problems. My phone sometimes will just randomly dial somone off of my saved Numbers list for no reason. I have woken up at 3am several times to one of my friends cursing me out over the phone laying on my side table. Verison told me the phone just needed a software update and it spent an hour being downloaded and then it happened again two nights ago... also the screen scratches very easily and you have to constantly clean the phone as every finger print stands out and looks awful on such a beautiful phone... over all I like the phone and will probably replace it with anouther of the same phone and hope for the best... also verisons representatives and phone people suckRead full review
Received this phone a couple of days ago, and activating it for my pre-paid phone account was a breeze! Also considering i received it as a seller refurb i expected it to have knicks, or scratches and it is like new. The 1.3 megapixel camera works like well a cell phone camera. Don't expect amazing pictures, but don't expect completely crappy ones either. I've taken a couple of photos and they're not to bad... I love how on the side it has the little slide button to lock or unlock the keys when the phone is not slid open. That makes the phone SO MUCH EASIER TO HANDLE! I like the sleek design and the how the center wheel moves in a circular motion. I also like how you can set for when scrolling the wheel how fast it will go. I also like the vibration feed back from the touch buttons. And the speaker phone is loud and clear! Which comes in handy when the hubby is on the road and i am folding laundry or cleaning. I also like some of the generic ringtones it comes with. Sometimes those ringtones are just so annoying you can't stand them. Well this phone has some that are tolerable! Anyways as i said good for what i got it for... i have yet to test the video...Read full review
This is an awesome little device. All the functions you need in a phone and mp3 player. Especially for the price, compared to owning both seperatley. Although, like usual, there are few features that could be tweaked. For instance; when you use random on the mp3, it doesn't do a great job of remembering which ones you've heard. Some days you'll never hear the same ones, some days you hear a couple of songs a couple of times. But you can always hit next so that's not a huge deal. When I first recieved the phone I was immediatley reminded of the RAZR with it's size and style. And it basically is the same only upgraded exterior and speedier interfacing. I am disappointed in the toughness of the phone. It is a little flimsy, and if you left it open and stepped or sat or whatever, you would probably break it. But that's what insurance is for! I am also pretty hard on phones so this may not apply to you. I decided to buy the LG Choco 3 because of its dual pupose and my active lifestyle. Very convienent and more affordable than buying a new phone and a new IPOD plus song prices.Read full review
It's an alright phone. It has it's goods and bads, of course it also depends on your carrier. Good: -Nice design. -Easy to use. -Bluetooth Support. -Small and Compact. -Heat sensible main buttons. -Battery life pretty good. -Supports many features. Bad: -Speakers are very low, sound is much lower then most phones. -In winter it's hard to press the heat sensible buttons. -Limited computer connection. -No WiFi support. -No MicroSD support. So basically, if you're buying this phone for talking and texting then it's a great choice, however, if you wish to use its other features, it's not that easy. It's internal memory is limited to around 100MB which now it's almost nothing. The only files you can transfer to and from your phone are .mp3 files. You cannot transfer games or other files. Also, I'm using Bell and they limit Bluetooth very much. You cannot transfer music files, images, or other files through Bluetooth. The only real use for it would be to use for headsets but I have never tried it. Be careful with the default shortcuts. Because its head sensible, you may turn on the internet by accident while its in your pocket. This may cause you some high fees at the end of the month.Read full review
