THIS IS MY THIRD GS500
One of the best values in standard definition, tape-driven camcorders. If you don't mind tape, like the "run and gun" approach to spur of the moment images, this does a nice job. In its day, it was advertised as "near broadcast quality," which was true-- for clear day, outdoor shoots. You want manual mode for indoors. The 3 CCD chips are far better than current CMOS, which have rolling shutter effect. I have owned three since their 2006-2007 production run.
