Compact with unbeatable image quality
The good: affordable, lightweight, excellent build quality, excellent image quality, fast focus. The bad: Unlike my 50-200, in order to focus manually, I need to first switch to manual focus on the camera body instead of simply just rotate the focusing ring so its a bit inconvenient. I’ve kit WR ED lens 18-55mm that came w/ my k50, but I like to photograph in darkness environments (after sunset) and I needed faster lens, but HD or other prime lens is very expensive. This lens is the one that stays on my k3
This has taken the reins from my DA 18-55 lens as my carry lens. I started using film cameras with a 50mm prime lens so using a prime lens is easy for me. Good lens for beginner
I'm using this lens with Pentax k-30 for portrait and landscape photography. It gives you super sharp image at focus zone and smooth bokeh. Fast enough to shoot at dark places - I shoot portraits in bar with 1/15-20 at 3200 ISO. Fast autofocus in bright scenes. Very light and good plastic, focusing ring feels like metal, Really cheap, comparing to other Pentax 35 mm lenses.
