Western Digital 2 TB Audio Visual Hard Drive
I bought this drive to upgrade the storage in my 6-tuner TiVo Roamio DVR. This hard drive is specifically designed for use in audio/visual devices. This series of drives from Western Digital are the drives that TiVo installs in all of their retail DVRs. I have used these drives for many years in all of my AV equipment and they are very reliable. They are quiet, and they run at a cool temperature. I have one of them that has been running 24/7/365 for over 6 years! As with all hard drives, one of the "tricks" to ensuring the longevity of the drive is regular maintenance. I use SpinRite from Gibson Research. a program that I have been using for many years and one that I highly recommend.
