Good non TTL flash
The 383 is not specific for Canon or Nikon, as it's brand agnostic. The flash has a GN of 120 which means at ISO100, f/8, it can reach 15 feet. The flash takes 4AA batteries or 4AA batteries and external power source to provide fast recycle time and many more flashes than just the 4AA batteries which are required for auto and fraction power performance. The flash has a swivel head, hot shoe and sync plug. The minus is it doesn't have a zoom head or TTL or high speed sync. Super versatile manual flash
This is an amazing flash for manual control. It gives you a wide range of flash power, down to 1/16, it cycles really fast, especially at the lower power settings, and you can point it in any direction for ceiling or side bounce. The controls are physical switches that are easy to adjust with one hand while doing off-camera flash. No digital display nonsense. This flash doesn't talk to the camera, which means it works with any camera that has manual control; I use manual camera settings while using it.
