The Singer 401A sewing machine, with a slant needle bar, allows clear view of the stitching area. This Gear driven Singer Sewing Machine has an internal motor to improve productivity. This Slant Needle Sewing Machine has two plates, so you can go for a straight stitch on the fabric or make a design on the other plate with an elongated hole. Simply position the red lever of this Slant Needle Sewing Machine to achieve the built-in patterns to decorate the fabric. The presser foot being 1/2-inch wide, this Singer Sewing Machine allows aligning the patch with the needle and foot on whichever side is convenient for you. Having teeth along the pressure foot as well as behind the needle, the Singer 401A facilitates easy stitching, pulling the fabric straight causing less of a mess.Product Identifiers

I love my 401A!
I am an almost daily sew-er and I used my original machine for 17 years before it needed serviced beyond my capabilities, and before that it was my moms, and before that it was her Aunts. I loved it so much that I HAD to purchase this one as a backup machine because the brand new one I went to the store and bought to use while mine was in the shop was CRAP. Great Machine
This machine is great and it came with all the accessories except the carrying case. However the machine was seized up and had to be serviced to get it working.
