  • Gaggia classic review

It’s a great machine for espresso. And a very good machine for frothing milk if you upgrade your steam wand you can work some latte art. . The problem I have is the height from the spout to the drip pan surface. Very short. You can take the tray away and Have more hight. Not something you want to do too often. The original steam wand is close to the countertop so you have to lift the entire machine up by putting it up on a book. Then you have ample room for your frothing picture. All in all it’s a very good machine not five stars so sorry. I love mine.

  • The "Classic" is a classic

My first espresso machine. Recommended by a highly experienced hobbiest. Small footprint. High quality workmanship. Short learning curve for a newbie. Deliscious results. Modified it with the Rancillio Silva steaming wand as recommended by many.

  • Gaggia Classic review.

I am very happy with my Gaggia Classic. It upped my game. I had good results with a manual ROK espresso maker, then I had mixed and often poor results with a thermoblock machine and the portafilter was a soupy mess to deal with. My Gaggia Classic gives me consistent great performance and the coffee pucks in the portafilter are easy to dispose of after brewing. And the espresso that I am able to brew is truly great

  • Best Espresso machine for the $$

If you want the best results do not use it with the "Crema Perfetta" pressurized filter basket or insert. If so, sure it is finicky to get the grind and tamping right but that's what being a home barista is all about. Once you learn how to properly use it (and are willing to take the time to let it warm up, and clean/descale it regularly) you will be rewarded with professional-quality espresso, lattes, etc. It is also very attractive & compact, and has features generally not found on a machine of this price (a solenoid & 58mm grouphead). Only negatives are the Panarello frothing wand (a standard wand is much better) and the dark shade of the water tank makes it difficult to see the water level.

  • Great Espresso Machine

Hi folks, I've been using commercial espresso machines back in time when I was doing some part time jobs in cafe's. This is the closest thing to commercial machine for small amount of money. If you like espresso coffee then you probably should know what the name Gaggia means there. It's quality, simplicity and tradition. Great thing with this machine is that it produces awesome coffee but there are things you should know for that fact to be true: 1. Get yourself a coffee grinder - try to avoid pre-ground coffee 2. Pay more for quality whole bean coffee 3. Get nice set of espresso and cappuccino cups and frother 4. You gotta know what are you doing because this machine is all manual 5. Every different coffee needs it's own grind setting and amount of coffee for perfect taste 6. Play with your machine to get it know better The thing I would like to improve on this machine is bigger water tank. Once again WARNING for non experienced people: this is an manual espresso machine and do not buy it if you are not willing to learn and sweat to make your coffee taste as you want.

  • Excellent quality for espresso beginner

Quick to heat up, easy to maintain, just wish there was more height off the counter for the steam wand (12oz jugs are about all that easily fits).

  • Good starting point for home

After some fullauto's, Got 2018 new (with some dents though) with "junk" Silvia v1 works perfectly. Cheap Delonghi and Breville also worked well but soupy pucks are meesy for busy mornings. These make excellent pucks, and some 5 minutes, not 30 minutes, is not enough but possible start brewing, good for lazy mornings. Silvia has a bit larger boiler requires few more minutes to start but far better steam. The classics steam wand is to be changed as others do. The classic has narrow deep drip tray much better not to mess around like Silvia. The height and beauty is almost same but smaller footprint of the Classic leaves more space on tiny kitchen. The coffee quality is almost same, and much better than smaller portafilters. But the Classic has higher showerhead, means deeper basket, so can holds more powder. Sometimes the puck breaks hitting the showerhead to have messy coffee on the Silvia. Almost same with some differences, Both are good start point, and good for home use.

  • simple and really delivers

Actually the best machine I have had. We had a nice Krup's that got the job done and lasted for years. It is no comparison to this "classic" machine. The key of course is quality beans and a good grinder. This machine make one great espresso. It is very durable and should last for years. Cleaning is very straight forward, but its not difficult. Two thumbs up.

  • Pretty Great

I've only had this thing for a few months but its been great so far. Takes some getting used to but ts a semi auto machine so that's expected. Also you are gonna want to buy a better tamper (the one it comes with is garbage.) Machine is great so far and all reviews I read said it last for a long time. I say go for it!!!!

  • Great little machine

This machine arrived in great condition and with the added tamper and steam wand. It was missing a tiny plastic pin to keep the espresso in the portafilter from spraying everywhere, but it was easy, quick and cheap to source. Easy to pull good shots, I'm thoroughly enjoying the machine.
