Excellent CPU for an old motherboard. I first made sure to match CPU speed, front-side bus speed, and family "Barton" were compatible with this motherboard. After an online search to make sure this was my best price, I ordered this upgrade CPU. Very pleased with the results. CPU arrived without bent pins or other shipping damage. Removed old CPU and inserted the new one. Smeared top of CPU with heat-sink grease and installed the heat-sink and fan assembly. Plugged fan into motherboard and powered on the system. Came right up. Set custom settings in the CMOS setup for the BIOS. All went well. Very pleased to have an affordable upgrade for a really old motherboard.
Very surprised to see this old prcessor in good shape. It was purchased to back up an outdated system that I use to play old games on a windows 98 platform. I can't rate it properly because I haven't installed it yet.

I was building a system for my grandson's birthday. I bought a 400 Mhz Acer board. I wanted to match all bus speeds. Dropped in some memory and a heavy heat sink. I tested each part before mounting in a box. It all worked well the first power-up. I rate this part very highly. It was shipped quickly and was very well packaged. Was worth the price.
updated a computer a few years ago with complete motherboard and kept the old one around . this year I desided to put together a computer for the young man next door for school homework so I dug out the old motherboard and found the processor was bad, so EBAY here I come. found just exactly what I needed.
