Just what i wanted for "my collection" and it works perfectly

Been looking for a Blu-Ray set of all 6 of the original Star Wars films, couldn't find one in stores and I was happy that I found one here for a great price ($25). Blu-rays are good quality and run great on my PC Blu-Ray Drive, they would probably run and look even better on my big 1080p screens downstairs. My monitor on my PC is 4K OLED and the dices image quality is HD 1080p, so naturally they don't look as good on a 4K screen (but they still look and run fine). I love the original six Star Wars Films and have been meaning to add them to my Blu-Ray Collection. I will also own these for the sake of having official copies of them. I recently watched the Original Trilogy via the 4K Fan remasters and they were fantastic (4K77, 4K80, and 4K83 respectively). I wanted a way to own the official versions of all six of these movies, and now I do. I do wish that one day we can get theatrical cuts of the OT on Blu-Ray officially, but alas this and burning the 4K remasters are the best we can do. Still, I adore these films in spite of their flaws and they are classics, good cop for the price.

9 CDs but only the first 6 movies.

I feel the collection title was misleading referring to the "complete saga" 9 CD set but in fact was only the first 6 movies. Luckily, it WAS a good deal so I don't feel cheated just disappointed that the set was not the full 9 movie Luke Skywalker collection as I thought I was getting.

  • "Crawl" appears in Spanish when using internal Blu-Ray drive; standalone player no problem

So, this is more of an industry-wide issue than just this particular product, but on my internal drive on my HTPC the "Star Wars Crawl", and "In a galaxy far, far away..." are all in Spanish. There is no setting on the software (Leawo) or the disc menus to fix it. The only solution is using my standalone Blu-Ray player, which isn't brand new either. The default is English there. One thing I will say is that the DVD set I gave to my nephews that I'm replacing with this one had a ton more artwork on the inside of the packaging as well as on the discs. I didn't think this would matter to me, but it really does add to the experience. This set is really drab and straight forward inside.

  • A diamond in your collection

Very good material for sure , the master piece of cience fiction history. As a product is a good one colectible for the image and the material use to package. On the other hand, the case , yes the simple blue ray case is made of poor quality and it brokes at the center where the cd's goes in and in other parts the same thing hapens. The plastic is thin and fragile. This negative thing don't invalid that this one was made to shine like a diamond on your collection as a fanatic of the saga.

  • Star Wars Saga 2011 Blu-Ray Set

Amazing sound and picture. Only flaw is that these are not the original theatrical versions. These have the George Lucas "New Edition" tweaks that can be annoying if you're a purist. Otherwise, it's a great value and very entertaining.

  • Classic Star Wars Trilogy enhanced and fleshed out with the pre-New Hope Trilogy collection.

Let's face it. "A New Hope" drew us baby boomers in and the remainder of the original trilogy kept us hooked for decades. There will never be an equal experience to the wonder we were caught up in watching the first big screen theater release all those years ago. With today's production techniques, much of the awe of that first screening is now commonplace. I likely will never have that experience again, but that doesn't mean the series doesn't continue to speak to me. I have seen all six on their initial theater release, but wanted to watch the entire series in order to see if I might enjoy it viewed in that manner. This is a great compilation for that effort with video complimenting my 4K monitor and a theater soundtrack that my own sound system can rattle the walls with.

  • Satisfying Family-Friendly Entertainment

All 6 movies in this classic Star Wars: the Complete Saga are very family-friendly, yet still very entertaining for just about all ages, even for those who may not be exactly sci-fi fans. It's great having all the movies in the set available together. After all, a great story is best watched consecutively, in order, either over the course of several days (Star Wars family movie week), or why not do a marathon (Star Wars family movie day)!!

  • Very good collection

This review is for the STAR WARS THE COMPLETE SAGA 1,2,3,4,5,6 (9 BLU-RAY Discs Box Set) with Darth Vader in cover. Contains the remastered versions of the episodes IV, V and VI. It really is a complete collection of Star Wars. All extras are very nice, some can be very short, others long, but overall very entertaining. All extra content, to the smallest clip are fully subtitled in Spanish and French. Some parts from some extras contents are slightly desynchronized subtitles for a second or two delay, nothing to ruin the experience. I recommend this purchase for both fans and for newcomers. It is true that the remastered versions of Lucas on episodes IV , V and VI annoy many Puritans, but let's leave aside so cheap talk ultraconservative, most have accepted that improvements are fabulous in 90% of cases and make more homogeneous whole story of the 6 movies and even fits better with the new trilogy that has just started with the episode VII.

  • Holy Bantha!

What a deal, getting this set brand-new for only $40! (Not sure why, maybe because of the "defective" [one page reversed - no biggie] booklet?) But hey - packaging aside - this is the 9-disc Blu set, and the content is the draw here. Surely, there's a 9-FILM set coming, down the road a couple years. Maybe that set will even feature the ORIGINAL cuts of these films (now that George is no longer in charge). But that's then. For now, this suits me just fine.
