The Moog Minimoog Model-D is a truly fantastic three oscillator monosynth. I’ve had mine for a little over 15 years and hope to never part with it. It’s very immediate as every control has a knob or a switch and honestly almost every setting sounds great. However there are some radiant sweet spots to be found. First off the filter is THAT filter. It sounds smooth and at high resonance settings loses a lot of bass. The interplay of the oscillators is one of my favorite aspects of this synth. There is always an element of analog drift going on. My favorite application for this synth is creating analog-FM style leads, putting the mod wheel all the way up, having the mod source set as oscillator three, and keytracking oscillator three. You get these pulsating and undulating sounds that really don’t sound like anything else. Assign it to oscillators and/or filter and you get so much texture. I do find that setting even slightly rolled back amp envelope attack and decay times is always more pleasing that fully gated sounds. This sounds WAY more natural to my ears as sounds occurring in nature don’t just come on. They rise and fall. I have sequenced with this using a MIDI-CV Kenton converter but I almost always prefer playing my parts as this synth is a real instrument in the truest form. Also you lose the keytracking of the filter over MIDI. There are two ports on the back of the Model-D and these are for connecting various accessories. There are the 1125 sample & hold generator, the 1130 drum trigger, and the 1150 ribbon controller. All of these get power from these ports and connect to the CV inputs. I have the 1125 and this is one of my secret weapons. I hope to mod it with a clock in one day but for now I have a blast getting blendable sample & hold mixed with levels of various continuous patterns. If only all arpeggiators could do this. All in all this synth is a monster. It sounds fat and really can do so much.Read full review

This is great. I if there's one thing that MiniMoogs hate it's dust. It gets in the pots and switches and make life crackly and noisy. This cover solves that problem. I was hoping that it would, D be a high quality item and I was not disappointed. EXCELLENT.

It's probably the best synth ever made or that ever will be made. Every serious keyboardist should have one. Or two!

A durable, soft on the inside cover for your valuable MiniMoog. Like all other covers I have used on the Mini, you have to have the electronics module stowed but that just helps keep dust out. Recommended!

The Minimoog. Iconic. Inspirational. Enduring. This instrument defined the face of music for decades and is continuing to do so for a whole new generation of musicians, keyboard players and producers. This latest incarnation sports full MIDI implementation, as well as a velocity and pressure sensitive keyboard. YES PLEASE!
