I have played professionally in a rock & roll band for many years. For the past five years I have been using a double keyboard rig with a fully-weighted Yamaha P90 and a non-weighted Korg N5. My full set up with keyboard stand and amplifier weighed over 100 pounds and takes 3-4 trips to and from the car to cart into the venue. I was looking for simpler, quicker, and lighter keyboard set up. I decided to go with a single keyboard setup using an iPad and keyboard controller. After looking at the MAudio and other controllers, I decided on the Behringer UMX610 and am very happy with my decision. I am a key weight snob and the UMX610 semi-weighted keys are the best I could find. The ability to reprogram what the controllers (volume slider, Octave, pitch bend, etc) actually control is very cool. With 4 quick touches, I can reprogram any controller such as the Modulation wheel to be volume control, the Octave as transpose +/-, etc. As for construction, it is very light: 8lbs, but is very sturdy. The red color is very cool. I can come out of the UMX with either MIDI or USB straight into the iPad, (though MIDI requires an iRig MIDI conversion kit. It runs on a few AA batteries which makes me a little nervous, so I keep a few on hand in case they run out during a gig. Garage Band has a nice Piano, Whirly, and Soul Organ patch, plus a number of other synths. In the middle of a song I can switch patches on the iPad by simply tapping a new sound. SampleTank app has a nice Hammond patch, piano patches are not as nice as GarageBand, but has great woodwinds. Certain patches are limited to less keys than the 61 on the UMX, so you'll need to know each sound patch and what keys can be used. Everyone complains that Behringer User Manuals are very poorly written and no difference here, but the UMX610 is so simple to use and very well marked, you almost don't need a manual. Overall very happy, would recommend.Read full review
This is a very nice keyboard Behringer always seems to do the right thing. If you just need a controller, this certainly pass the test

I purchased the Behringer UMX610 because of it's size and weight. Behringer's products (I have their powered speakers) are very dependable so I took that knowledge to move on the UMX610 Controller. It is an awesome piece of equipment as it is so light weight and very compact. You can stick it under your arm and plug into any type of process you're wanting - computer, pro sound, etc. It is also unique because of it's color; the red just says 'look at what Behringer can do'. Thank you for making it available and I'm very pleased with it's production through my Pro Sound Equipment; looking forward to the controller capabilities via computer.
I am using 2 UMX Behringer midi controller keyboards like this one with a computer and VSTi instruments to play live gigs. The keyboard action is good enough to get buy with playing organ, piano and synth parts. I do wish they were waterfall style keys for playing the organ parts properly, but I can work with it. They have worked well, especially for the price.
The Behringer UMX 610 midi controler 61 key velocity sensative keyboard is a great go to piece for adding just the right finishing touches to a song or starting from square one and writing an entire midi composition. The one issue I had was getting the kore software to integrate into my daw recording software. I've work in other studios that had way more expensive keyboard controlers and the Behringer UMX610 is just as good and even easier to operate. A Great Buy for a Great Piece of Gear. You'll get so much use out of the Behringer UMX610 you woen't be sorry. Do yourself a favor BUY IT!!
Nice keyboard, very small and portable. I enjoy it vey much. Recommend.

The keyboard is nice size that doesn't require a lot of space, I love the feel of the unit. The downside is there is no easy way to show you how to program the gang of buttons and knobs on the board. Also some of the keys jam from time to time.
As advertised happy customer
